My top 10 places in LA for looking and feeling good.

If you live in or are going to visit LA these are the places that you should have in your address book:

1. http://www.dermsurgery.net/ The best dermatologist in LA! Dr Daniel Behroozan completely got rid of my Sebaceous Hyperplasia in one visit and makes you feel totally looked after. Nothing is too much trouble.
2. http://www.laurahebert.com/ For one on one personal training you have to go to Laura, she makes you laugh as she puts you through your paces. I actually look forward to working out now!

3. http://www.neilgeorgesalon.com/ If you need your hair cut, colored or just blown out, look no further than the gorgeous  Neil George Salon in Beverly Hills. You might even see an A lister!
4. http://www.arcona.com/ For great facials this is the salon to go to. It's in Santa Monica so you can go for a walk on the beach after and pretend that's where your newfound glow came from!
5. http://www.studiomixbeauty.com/ This beauty studio inside Fred Segal's in Santa Monica is a mecca to all beauty junkies. They sell a range of hard to find beauty products. If you're anything like me you'll spend all day in there.
6. http://www.menchies.com/ Okay so this isn't really a beauty place but they do the best frozen yogurt and hey it's good for the digestion! You can mix your own from numerous flavors like island banana and red velvet and add toppings, when I'm being good I have fruit on top!

My TV Debuts!

Neil George Refresh Dry Shampoo - tips from Neil

Dry shampoo is great for work to evening - this dry shampoo can save you that wash you may not have time for. Just apply to hair after work, on your way to a dinner party for a quick pick me up refresher. it will revamp your look.


I find that day old hair actually styles better. Ideally, go a day without a proper scrub, then hit your hair with the dry shampoo, upside down to give your roots lift. For the recessionista, save a day or two extra from your salon blowdry, and use dry shampoo to prolong.

Day 5....Hair

Time to get your hair into shape for the hectic holiday season and the torture you will most likely put it through from curling irons etc. I suggest from today onwards using a hair treatment twice weekly. Choose a mask depending on your hair type and massage a liberal amount in. Comb through and then put on a plastic shower cap like the ones you get in hotels. Cover with a warm towel, the heat will enable the mask to penetrate better and leave on for at least half an hour before rinsing thoroughly. If possible allow hair to dry naturally afterwards to preserve some of the moisture you've just added. For a real treat you can leave it on overnight with the shower cap on and rinse in the morning!

Neil George Hair Salon in Beverly Hills

I had such a treat today. I was sent into the gorgeous Neil George Salon in Beverly Hills to get my hair colored. The salon is in a quiet setting and is light and airy, making you feel calm the moment you set foot in the door . The staff are friendly and treat you like a star even though they have many of Hollywood's A listers coming in frequently.

They introduced me to Amanda, the hair color genius. After she had gotten over the shock (whilst trying not to show it) of my appalling at home dye job, I'm so lazy about coloring that I only do the roots haha, she gently told me what needed to be done. Being a bit of a die hard rocker I was determined to keep it very dark, which she did, but also softened it a bit and made it look edgier and fuller by adding some coffee colored tips and a few low lights around my face. Sydney then blow dried it to perfection, making me think I should be going out tonight to show it off! They are the place to go for a great haircut too - Anh is the master of that and I will be paying him a visit soon to get some extra layers put in for a more shaggy rock look!

I was stunned at the results, not only does my hair look healthier and thicker it also makes me look younger too - just goes to show you have to listen to the experts!
